Today was my 2nd fishing trip with my daughter Tabitha, after last weekends maiden trip both Tabitha and I were looking forward to a great days fishing. The day started with a quick trip to our local tackle shop (Darlington Angling Centre) were we purchased a fresh tub of mixed maggots. Tabitha’s plan was to fishing a single maggot, which I still had to put on the hook, over a small bed of hemp seed. Tabitha used a 3 meter speed-whip with a size 20 hook. Due to her lack of experience we shared a single swim Peg 1 on Parklands Lake. Tabitha fished the edge of the lilly pads on the right hand side of the peg.
Whilst setting up we saw several big splashes within the swim, Tabitha put out a nice bed of hemp and within minutes the first small roach was caught. Tabitha’s lack of experience meant several fish were lost in the lilly pad. However, she continued to fish and before long she had caught her first ever Gudgeon. Only two fishing trips in and she has now managed to catch more species than I did in my entire childhood. This possible has something to do with someone is taking the time to teaching her, as a child I was just given a rod, some bait & tackle and sent fishing.

Today we saw more new members attend the Bishop Auckland Social Media Cafe at the Park Head Country Hotel & Restaurant.
Today the group had length discussions regarding the following topics:
- International IP Day – Copyright of corporate logos, website copy and photographs
- TweetDeck vs HootSuite – TweetDeck is the preferred Social Media management client of those who attended. Also discussed scheduling tweets, posting & managing multiple social media accounts plus using the twitter search feeds for monitoring certain key terms.
- Blogging using WordPress – members discuss how/why they were using WordPress, discussions also include whether to use wordpress.com, wordpress.org or private hosting & installation.
- LinkedIn – Events, Polls and Groups
Due to the lengthy discussions we didn’t get time to discuss Podcasts and Twitter Chats, these will almost certainly form part of the discussion at our next meeting in May.
All-in-all another great meeting that has almost certainly been thought prevoking for all those in attendance.
